The Kreelex proves that flash sells. Jim Kraft wrapped a hook in Lateral Scale material, added a bead head, and created a fly so effective it should probably be regulated. It imitates the minnows, chubs, and juvenile whitefish that larger trout feed on when they outgrow insects, and it does so with a simplicity that would make a minimalist weep with joy. In the water, it flashes and darts like a fish experiencing a midlife crisis, which apparently is exactly what predatory trout find appealing.
