The Surf Candy is the cockroach of the fly box -- it survives everything. Bluefish teeth, oyster bar abrasion, being left in a hot truck for three days. The epoxy body creates a hard, translucent shell over flash and bucktail that catches light like a real baitfish's scales. Bob Popovics designed it for the New Jersey surf, but the Carolina coast adopted it because anything that survives bluefish deserves a second home. Tied sparse and small for albies, dressed up and heavy for stripers.
