The Prince Nymph is the Switzerland of fly patterns -- universally accepted and offensively effective. In Great Lakes tributaries, it passes for a stonefly, a mayfly nymph, or possibly a small existential crisis drifting along the bottom. The white biot wings flash like a surrender flag, but the fish are the ones capitulating. It works when nothing else does, which is the highest compliment a fly can receive.
