The Buford is named like someone's uncle, and it fishes like someone's uncle too -- reliable, unpretentious, and surprisingly effective when the situation calls for it. The spun deer hair head pushes water on the strip and pops to the surface on the pause, creating a disturbance that pike and musky interpret as 'wounded meal.' It is a fly that rewards patience and a good strip-set.
