Pompano are the fish that make surf anglers walk miles of beach dragging a fly rod through sand, and this weighted jig fly is the reason they do it. It imitates the sand fleas that pompano root out of the wash like tiny pigs at a truffle farm. Bounce it in the trough between the bars and wait for a strike that feels like you hooked the bottom, except the bottom is running south at impressive speed.
