In the remote tundra streams of western Alaska, lemmings periodically swim across rivers with the optimism of creatures that do not know what lives beneath the surface. What lives beneath the surface is a twenty-eight-inch rainbow trout with anger management issues. This fly imitates that doomed crossing with a buoyant, wake-producing profile that draws strikes measured on the Richter scale. It is the most violent thing that happens on a quiet Alaskan stream.
